NEXT GEN Safety & Systems Workshop via TEAMS
NEXT GEN SAFETY & SYSTEMS Workshop is being held via TEAMS on 21 October 2025. The theme is How Real World Lessons Can Prevent Incidents At Sea.
This unique workshop will be run over 4 hours from 13:00 to 17:00 UK with the main focus on sub 24 metre vessels. Topics are also relevant for 25m to 100m vessels along with the ports and harbours they operate from.
The workshop includes a superb group of presenters and industry experts along with time for dynamic Q&A. Safety needs to be front and centre as innovative system designers are pushing the boundaries and creating a realm of new possibilities onboard.
Session One looks at Avoiding Single Points of Failure at Sea on Complex Vessels. Session Two considers Why Shock Mitigation Guidance and WBV Strategies are Evolving. Session Three brings in industry solution providers highlighting viable technology plus safety standards and lessons from other sectors.
Workshop Lead - John Haynes, 'From running training for significant maritime organisations it is clear there is an urgent need for a better understanding of safety for emerging technologies. It is now essential to identify a safe approach to multiple systems. I have personally asked a number of decision makers what are their most burning issues. Their suggestions have been used to develop this programme.'
The new technologies that shape our future will arise through collaborations between scientists, engineers and industry. Energy efficiency and environmental impact are clear drivers, but others may emerge... including rapid shifts in global politics.
The unique knowledge gained from NEXT GEN presentations and discussions will help to shape decisions that lead to improvements for in-service vessels and procurement of next generation systems that fit the evolving requirements of a changing world.
