International Ice Rescue Operations & Training
11.12.2014
NASBLA, in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard, will host the 2015 Biennial International Ice Rescue Operations & Training Meeting from February 23 to 27 in Bay City, Michigan, US.
This meeting will serve as a forum to share best practices in ice rescue techniques and equipment used by federal, state and local first responders and as a medium to generate a national discussion and networking to reduce risk and save lives.
Interactive sessions and demonstrations will significantly enhance first responders' understanding and preparation for the effects of cold water on victims, rescuers and equipment. Participation is limited, so agencies are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible.
Ice Rescuer Course
This 3-day course will be taught at the U.S. Coast Guard National Ice Rescue School by instructors from the U.S. Coast Guard and NASBLA.
This course meets and exceeds the NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents.
